Mangaluru, Sep 12, 2015:  Addressing the Raita Chaitanya Yatre at Bantwal Cross Road  BJP State President, Prahalad Joshi Sept 11,  said the party is not opposed to providing drinking water to parched districts of Chickballapur and Kolar.  But, such a move should not create unrest in other parts of the State.

The government should respect the sentiments of the people in coastal region.   Government must hold a dialogue with the people of coastal Karnataka on the Yettinahole project and convince them, before going ahead with the project.

Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha member Nalin Kumar Kateel charged the government with going back on its promise of holding discussions with people’s representatives of the region before going ahead with the project. The Chief Minister had promised to hold a meeting with the representatives, but he has not bothered to hold one despite a hue and cry being raised by people in the region.   BJP’s  Joshi charged the government with failure on all fronts, including the management of the power situation. He said while the State government has been receiving grants for several welfare schemes, including the Anna Bhagya, from the Union government, but it  claims complete credit for the schemes.
