Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, April 17, 2020:  An ASI attached to Mangaluru East (Kadri) Police Station reunited two children with their parents in Manjeshwara in Kasargod district. The act of Santhosh Kumar Padil has been praised widely, even on social media.

The children had come to Mangaluru during holidays and could not return to their native following the closure of border roads. Relatives of the family drew Kumar’s attention to the plight of two children separated from their parents.

After consulting senior police officers, the ASI decided to ferry children in his vehicle till Talapady border. The parents in turn were asked to seek permission from Kerala government to visit the border.

Finally, the children were reunited with their parents at the border.

In the past, Kumar had helped a child from Pumpwell get medical assistance by rushing the child to the hospital in police department’s vehicle, `Sagar’.

Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha lauded Kumar’s act of humanity and issued a certificate of appreciation declaring him as third ‘Corona Warrior of the Day’.
