Mangaluru, July 21: Rupees Nine Lakhs goes missing from the Cash table of the ticket booking counter of Mangalore Central station on Monday, July 20.
The incident came to light on Monday, July 21, morning when the cashier came to take the previous day’s (Sunday) collection kept in the cash chest to remit in the bank.
The theft happened at the general ticket counter room which is a 24 hour counter. There would be one or two ticket issuing persons any time, any day in this room. How the theft occured is a mystery.
The ticket collection was handed over to the Cashier Sunilkumar on Sunday late night. He had counted and bunddled the currencies and kept the collection in the safe cash chest.
He fond the cash chest empty When he came to collect cash on Monday morning to remit in the bank. He informed the Railway security and police immedietly. A case has been registered and the investigation is on.
It may be noted here that a similar incident had occured a few months back when Rs.80,000- was found missing. Later it was found in cash room itself.

Let Sunil Kumar recollect whether he has given cash key to anybody while going onleave etc.,...to whom given....interrogate them.Teuth will come out...... |
