Mangalorean Akshat Moodubidri bags sole India rights to Kazibo Music

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, May 31, 2012: Akshat Moodubidri who began promoting parties and artistes in Mangalore at the age of 22, is today the first Indian international artiste manager to bag a licensing deal for an overseas music label called Kazibo Music, based in Romania.

Akshat Moodbidri“It was sometime in 2009 that I wrote to Adrian Sina, the vocalist of Akcent, as a fan, asking them to perform in Bengaluru. As an artist manager, I took the responsibility to do the research and promotion for the band. Akcent finally did perform in India for the very first time in 2010,” says Akshat.

He explains further, “It was after their second successful tour this year that managers in Romania began to notice the difference. And that’s how I was offered this new responsibility. I will now exclusively manage concert bookings, artist management and publicity for all top Euro artistes under Kazibo Music in India such as Eila, Kaira, Naguale and so on.”

Akshat now holds the sole India rights for Kazibo Music downloads, caller tunes, DJ and public performances.

The 25-year-old has also been approached by the manager of Edward Maya, the renowned artiste. “I will be promoting the artiste and organizing his India tour, where he will be promoting his upcoming album,” he adds.

Explaining his interest in promoting Romanian music in India, Akshat said, “Their music is very similar to Indian. Also, there is a Bollywood connect. People in Romania enjoy Bollywood music and love Shahrukh Khan. A lot of Indians also follow many popular Roamanian artistes. This makes it a great confluence.”

A huge fan of commercial house, pop and RnB, Akshat wants to give his dream a new foundation. “It’s the love for music and the responsibility of promoting good artistes that keeps me going. I plan to organise bigger three day Romanian music festivals in India, and similarly promote Indian artistes in Romania,” he says.

Akshat believes he has gained this interest towards music also due to his upbringing in Mangalore. “The cultural exposure during my childhood still keeps me motivated,” he says. While he would love to make lasting friendships with artistes from across the country, this busy boy enjoys travelling.

“I’m a follower of Buddha. I love visiting monasteries,” he adds.
