Mangalore: VHP, BD demand probe into kidnap and rape of Medical student

Mangalore, Dec 25, 2013: The activists of VHP and Bajrang Dal staged protest in front of DC Office on Dec 24, Tuesday, condemning the kidnapping, rape, and blackmail of a student of Deralakatte Medical College student.

Addressing the protestors, Jagadish Shenava of Vishwa Hindhu Parishat said that during the time of home stay attack, many organization including Congress activists, Communists, Komu Souhardha Vedike staged many protests and rally demanding justice. But when the innocent girl was kidnapped and was forced into sex with a male friend, none of the organization is raising their voice.

He also said that Konaje police have arrested the culprits within 11 hours and just produced them before the court without conducting any interrogation due to the pressure of some elected representatives of state government. Few culprits are also involved in other crimes, hence the matter must be considered seriously and the case must be handed over to the CID for detailed enquiry.

Jithendra Kottary said that as the after the Congress government came to power, it has just indulged in taking anti-Hindu measures like withdrawal of Anti-Cow Slaughter Bill, Shaadi Bhagya scheme for muslim community and now trying to implement anti-superstitious law.

Criticizing Communist leader Prakash Karat, he said that Karat just spoke about Sowjanya’s case during his visit to city, but never tried to focus on Akshatha and Sowmya murder case.

He also urged the police department to provide proper security for the girl who was kidnapped by the gang.

Shivananda Mendon, Sharan Pumpwell, Gopal Kuthar, and others were present.
