Addressing a press meet on Thursday, he said in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and considering the future of final semester students only final semester exams will be held. The students of other semesters will be promoted to the next semester on the basis of their marks and other yardsticks.
Those students who have to clear backlog exams after failing in previous semesters can also appear for the exams. Students who have not paid the exam fees or have not registered for the exams should contact the Principals before August 17, he added.
As the University hostel has been converted into Covid care centre and as students from other districts will be arriving for the exams 14 days ahead as per the government’s Covid guidelines, the administration will be requested to let the hostel for University use, he said.
Students who are Covid positive will be allowed to write exams in a separate room, he added.
The Vice chancellor said efforts would be made to allow students from far off states like Bhutan and Meghalaya to appear for exams in their respective states after entering into an agreement with the universities of those states.
He said students can appear for the exams even without exam fee and can pay the same when availing their marks card. However they should have the required attendance, he added.
