Mangalore: Tulunada Rakshana Vedike stages protest against MCC apathy to civic woes of Jeppu

Mangalore, Dec 27,2012: The Tulunada Rakshana Vedike staged a protest in front of the Mahakalipadpu Temple at Jeppu on December 27, Thursday demanding early solution to the several civic woes of Jeppu area.

Speaking on the occasion, Yogish Shetty Jeppu, President of the Vedike said the Jeppu Mahakalipadpu area remained neglected since long, despite it being one of the busiest areas of Mangalore and also having several  places of public importance including schools, religious shrines and business establishments.

He said the place lacked a good drainage system and experienced problems due to overflowing drainage during monsoon, thereby posing health hazards.

The railway level crossing in the area too posed several problems to the thousands of people using the road every day, he said adding nearly 46 trains pass through the area. Children find it difficult to reach school on time on many an occasion, he pointed out and urged for an early solution to the problem.

He also warned of severe protest by the Vedike if the problems were not solved at the earliest.

J Ibrahim, Vice President of the Vedike, Hamid Hassan Madoor, Jyothika Jain and other Vedike members took part in the protest.
