Mangalore: Students protest against changes in carry-over system

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, July 27, 2013: Students of various colleges staged a protest in front of the DC office here on July 27, Saturday, under the aegis of the All College Students Association condemning the changes brought about to the carry over system  by the Education Department.

Speaking on the occasion, Dinaker Shetty, State President and Legal Advisor of the Association, said the changes in the carry over system has hit hard the students  and added  80 per cent of students will not be able to attend classes. He pointed out that the earlier system allowed students to continue their education even if they failed in ten subjects but the present system has fixed  a limit and allows students to attend the next class only if they passed in a certain number of subjects.
