In his inaugural address, he expressed his happiness that the PCR now has its own office, which it can use to communicate with other police officials and the general public and receive reports and complaints. He said that the idea of constructing a PCR office was initiated in the days when he was the DCP in Bangalore.

Speaking about the various facilities of the PCR, he said that it will be fitted with large CCTV screens, enabling police personnel to view the entire city when they are in communication with officers, 24 hours of the day. He assured that police personnel in PCRs are provided excellent facilities to maintain peace and law and order within the city in the best possible manner. He also urged PCR personnel to respond to public calls and complaints as quickly as possible. GPS will be fitted to all PCR vehicles, added the commissioner.

Stating that the police department now has hi-tech facilities, DCP R. Ramesh urged the staff not to misuse this facility and to make use of all the modern equipment implemented in the office. The formation of the commissionerate has reduced city limits, but has increased responsibilities, he said and urged police personnel to assist the public in all ways and maintain peace in society.

He also said that the public expects a lot from the commissionerate and that the officials must meet public expectations at any cost. The staff will receive a week-long training in Bangalore, he added.

DCP Rajashekar, Mangalore North Police Inspector Vinay P. Gaonkar, and other police officials were also present.
