Mangalore: Modi’s Govt worked more for Muslim community than Congress: Sufi M K Chishty

Mangalore, Dec 26, 2013: Sufi M K Chishty, head priest (Gadinashin) of Dargah Sharif at Atodara, Gujarat Haj Committee chairman and Ummah international TV channel founder urged the Muslim community to support BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who has worked for the welfare of the community more than Congress-led UPA government.

 

 

Delivering the talk on ’Modi and Muslims’ organized by NaMo Brigade at Moti Mahal on December 26, Thursday, he said that the congress leaders speak on the Gujarat riots of 2002, but they are not revealing about the 11,000 riots took place in 50 years of congress rule in the country, killing innocent Muslims and Hindus.

Appreciating Modi’s efficiency in handling the Gujarat riots of 2002, Chishty said that during the riot, Modi was the chief minister who had just taken the charge. Even though he lacked the experience in administration, he controlled the situation and stopped the riots within 4 days with the help of Mumbai, Rajasthan and military forces.

But after 2002 riot, Gujarat has not witnessed a single curfew. The Gujarat has created a situation where Muslim women and Hindu women can walk freely even at 2 am in Hindu and Muslim dominated area respectively. Gujarat has become the model for communal harmony, where Hindus and Muslims work in partnership in their business. Over nine percent of Muslims are employed in government offices.  Modi’s government has helped Muslim community in business and employment resulting in development of the community. None of the Congress-ruled state government has benefitted for Muslims.

In 1965 riots broke out in Gujarat continued for several days during the tenure of chief minister Hithendra Desai, when Madhav Singh Solanki was the chief minister in 1985, riots continued for 5 months and faced similar situation in 1990 and 1992, in such situation none of the minister and department questioned about their efficiency and not an FIR was also filed, but why Modi has to face such situation, he asked.

As per the Sachar Committee report, none of the Congress led state government had provided Muslims with job opportunity in police department, but in Gujarat, 5,000 Muslims out of 47,000 are in police department.  Muslims in Gujarat are having 75.3% literacy rate.

The Congress government in the centre has done nothing for the Muslims other than provoking them against BJP and Hindu’s. Their achievement is just restricted in fulfilling one recommendation out of the 40 recommendations of Sachar Committee, he said.

He also said that Muslims do not believe in conciliation, but want betterment, empowerment through education, and employment, which has been provided in Gujarat by Modi. Gujarat has 240 Muslim corporators elected from BJP and out of which 120 have taken charge as the chairmen of different boards.

Modi as the chief minister of Gujarat has provided good infrastructure like roads, drinking water facilities, hospitals and others. It has also given compensation to all Gujarat riots victims, without leaving any one. 

Criticizing the congress chief, he said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are trying to implement new law of homosexuality which cannot be accepted by any religion of the country, since it will destroy the culture of India. Their speeches against Modi are just to provocate Muslims. Modi’s brother and sister are still living in their old house and this shows that he has done nothing for his family.
