Mangalore : Kasargod man nabbed for bid to fly to Dubai using tampered passport

Mangalore, June 28, 2013 : The immigration officials at the Mangalore International airport trapped a person from Kasargod who was trying to fly to Dubai with a tampered passport containing an unauthorized page. The arrested person Pallikere Basheer from Pallikere in Kasargod, was later handed over to the Bajpe police.

The immigration officials during scrutiny of documents had found that a man from Kasargod had travelled to Dubai thrice earlier with a tampered passport. However, when he was ready to fly to Dubai for the fourth time on June 26, Wednesday night he was caught.

Investigations have revealed that Basheer had failed in SSLC exams and this had come in his way to travel to Dubai on work. He had then approached a travel agent named Moidu Kunhi of Tawakkal travel agency in Kanhangad, who helped him by tearing off the emigration clearance page of an old passport and pasting it to Basheer’s passport.
