Mangalore: Kargil heroes remembered on Vijay Diwas

Mangalore, July 26, 2014: The brave Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the nation during the Kargil war were  remembered and offered rich tributes during the Kargil Vijay Diwas  organised  at Lions Seva Mandir here on July 26, Saturday. The programme was held under the joint  aegis of the DK District Ex-Servicemen’s Association, Lions Club and Centre For Integrated Learning.

A workshop on ‘Patriotism and National Pride’ was also organised to mark the occasion. Tulasi Maddineni, ZP CEO, HS Manjunath, District Governor of Lions Club,  Col. N.S. Bhandary, President of DK District Ex-Servicemen’s Association, Sachitha Nandagopal of CIL and others were present.

Several retired  army men spoke about their experiences as well as the hard efforts put in by the Indian Army in winning the Kargil war.
