Mangalore, Aug 14, 2014: Three members of a family, including 10-year-old kid, were found dead at a flat in Hoigebail on Thursday August 14. The deceased have been identified as Shailesh (38), his wife Savitha (30) and their daughter Vidhyalaxmi (10). While the body of Savitha and her daughter Vidyalaxmi were found in bedroom and Shailesh body was hanging in a ceiling fan.
Financial problems apparently led them to take the extreme step, police said. The head of the family, a financier, had left a four-page suicide note in which he cited his financial problems. Savitha is suspected to have consumed poison after administering the same to their daughter. Vidyalakshmi was 5th standard student in Canara School. Neighbours said that they were last seen on Tuesday August 12.
As per sources, security guard at the apartments grew suspicious as none of the residents ventured out of their flat for the past two days, he went to check no one answered. Later he alerted the neighbours, and when the door was finally opened, all three were found dead.
A case has been registered and Urwa police led by cirlce inspector Ramachandra Maledevar investigating the case.
