Mangalore, June 4, 2013 : District Health Officer Dr OR Srirangappa has said a door-to-door awareness drive on Dengue will be held from June 10 to 15, to check the spread of the disease.
Speaking to reporters at his office, the District Health Officer said several cases of Dengue have been reported from the district during the current year and feared that there were chances of more Dengue cases due to water stagnation during monsoons.
He said the Department would hold talks with elected representatives, religious leaders, as well as the staff of the Department of Women and Child Welfare and Education Department, on how best they can contribute towards checking the disease.
The officer said even children will be sensitized on the issue through distribution of handbills under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
