Mangaluru, October 10, 2015: Sri Gokarnanatha Temple, which is popularly known as Kudroli temple, is gearing up to celebrate the 103rd annual festival, Navaratri and Mangalore Dasara 2015, from October 13 to 23.
Addressing press meet at the temple, Harikrishna Bantwal, member of Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara Temple Development Committee on Saturday October 10 said "the Mahanavami utsava rituals will commence on October 13 and idols of Nava Durga and Sharada will be installed as part of the festival on the same day.
Other programmes including Brahmahakalashotsava will held on October 16, Chandika Yagha on October 21 and Maha Anna Santharpana on October 22. Cultural programmes will be held as part of celebrations at Santhosha Kala Mantapa of the temple on all the days during the festival, he said.
Vijaya Dashami celebrations will be held on October 23. The Mangalore Dasara procession will be held on the same day. Idols Shree Sharada and Navadurga will be taken in a procession from the temple premises from 4 pm onwards.
Temple committee president HS Sairam told reporters that tableaux depicting the religion, culture and art forms will be part of the procession. Temple managing committee members Raghavendra Kulur, Padmaraj R, B K Tharanath, K Maheshchandra and others were present at the meet.
Mangalore Dasara, which was started 25 years ago, is expected to attract thousands of devotees.
