Mangalore, March 4: Former Chief Minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, lead the BJP padayatra in Mangalore and requested the people to vote for the BJP candidate. He said that he is confident of his party’s win MCC polls.

Addressing the media persons Mr Gowda said, "In five years of tenure, BJP has done a lot of development work in the district as well as in the state. BJP has worked hard and kept the promises made to the people. Dakshina Kannada district is a strong fort of the BJP and have no difficulty in winning the civic election. Bjp has fielded 64 candidates and hope to win 2/3 of the seats . BJP is campaigning with discipline and unity and we are sure to win most of the seats. People of the state as well as the district have witnessed the development work done by the BJP government in the past 5 years.” “The people trust BJP” he added

 

 

 

 

 

 

When asked about Poojary’s campaign and the negative publicity about JD(S), DVS said that JD(S) is there only for the show and it has no hold the elections. For name sake they have brought in 48 candidates to contest. We don’t take JD(S) seriously. Our competition is directly with the congress and not with any other party "

DVS commenting on the Congress campaigning spree in Puttur said, "Vijay Kumar Sorake was walking around in the paddy field with some of his followers, while Janardhan Poojary was on the road with 4 to 5 members. What a shame, Congress has already accepted their defeat. Vijay Kumar Sorake says that last time he did not get the MLA ticket and so he is trying this time and helping the congress candidate in the elections".

"Local body elections will not decide the future of any party but it will give a rough idea about the forthcoming MLA elections. In 5 years of tenure we have provided drinking water for 58 cities including rural areas. The state government has sanctioned Rs 200 crores specially for the Mangalore City corporation for developmental work " he opined.

When asked about KJP supporting Congress, DVS said that KJP with great difficulty has gathered 1000 members so far. In Hubli, Yeddyurappa has said not to support or vote BJP instead he has urged people to vote Congress, this shows that Yeddyurappa is directly supporting the Congress party. 

District President Padmanabh Kottari, Srikar Prabhu, the contestant of cantonment ward 46 Divakar were also present in the padayatra.
