Mangalore, Mar 20, 2014: Nalin Kumar Kateel has filed his nomination as BJP candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha Constituency at 11.15 am on March 20, Thursday.

 

Nalin who is the sitting MP has been given another chance to contest the Parliamentary elections by his party.

Accompanied by party leaders including District BJP President Pratap Simha Nayak, MLA Angara and former MLA Rukmaya Poojari,  Nalin Kumar Kateel filed his nomination papers  and handed over the documents to  A.B. Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner who is also the District  Election officer.  District Election Expenditure Observor Dr Shantheshwar Swamy was also present.

 

 

 

 

Speaking to the media men present on the occasion, Nalin said he has filed his nomination  with due blessings of all the party workers and  well wishers.

Stating that the people of the district have taken note of his achievements during the past five year period, Nalin exuded confidence that the people would support him in the election and help in achieving the endeavour of making Narendra Modi the prime minister of the nation.

It may be mentioned here that Nalin had in his very first attempt, during the previous Lok Sabha elections in 2009 had defeated Congress  leader B Janardhan Poojari by a margin of 40,420 votes.
