Mangalore: Another gas tanker overturns near Nelyadi, the second in one week

Mangalore, April 13, 2014: A gas tanker overturned at Kolyotte cross near Shiradi in Nelyadi on Sunday, April 13 after the driver lost its control and the vehicle rolled on its side.
It is said that the cleaner who was in the tanker has been admitted to the hospital with injuries.
The impact of the accident was such that the rotor gaze of the tanker developed a crack leading to leakage. Puttur fire and emergency services personnel rushed to the spot and tried to stop the leakage by pouring soil on the rotor gaze.
As of now officers from Mangalore are yet to visit the spot to repair the rotor gaze of the vehicle.
As precautionary measures the personnel of Nelyadi police out post and Puttur traffic police arranged alternative route for vehicular movement. The vehicles moving towards Bangalore will now go through Ijilampadi route.
