Mandekolu family proud of participation in Indian Army’s ’Operation Myanmar’

Sullia, June 12, 2015: Subedar U M Raghupathy, of Mandekolu, a tiny village in Sullia was part of Army team which retaliated at  camps of militants inside Myanmar, recently and there is a lot of  joy here.

U M Raghupathy.Subedar Raghupathy is a 25  year veteran serving in Indian Army. Subedar Ragupathy is currently serving in 21 Para Commando Special Force. reacting in typical manner  to the attack on Indian Army.   Operation Myanmar was carried out under  Major Ajith Katri and Lieutenant Colonel Nexar.

He told his family members on phone later that the team had to march a few kms in the thick forest. Though they did not face any problem except for the leeches.  The day also happens to be the 13th marriage anniversary of Raghupathy and Bharathi Raghupathy.

The Subedar joined Indian Army soon after his admission into law college. He underwent training in Belagavi and then served in Maratha Regiment, Para Regiment training centre in Bengaluru and was as Subedar in Assam. He has been awarded a letter of appreciation by the President of India.

Raghupathy’s childhood friend and agriculturist Yogish said Ragupathy had inculcated the quality of patriotism early. In fact, around 30 soldiers from Mandekolu area, are serving in Indian Army. Eight members from the Ugranimane family, to which Raghupathy belongs to, are serving in Indian Army.
