Mandd Sobhann to confer Global Music Awards in December

Mangalore, Aug 29, 2012: Eric Ozario, gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, announced at a press meet held at Press Club today that Mandd Sobhann will organize its 4th Global Konkani Music Awards Ceremony at Kalangann at 6:30 p.m. on December 9, 2012. 

Awards such as Best Singer Female 2011, Best Singer Male 2011, Best Lyricist 2011, Best Music Composer 2011, Best Music Arranger 2011, and Best Music Album 2011 will be conferred on the award winners.

Those interested can apply for the awards by sending Mandd Sobhann a copy of their Konkani vocal music album/CD/cassette/VCD/DVD released between Jan 2011 and Dec 2011 in any part of the world in any dialect of Konkani. Any person belonging to any community can apply for these awards, he said, adding that even devotional albums will be considered. 

Each award will comprise a title, a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, a trophy, and Maan Sanmaan. 

Candidates are required to submit their applications in the prescribed form and with the required documents to Kalaangan Makale, Shaktinagar, Mangalore - 6 on or before September 30. Mandd Sobhann will invite prominent Bollywood singers or music directors to give away the awards. 

Stany Alvares, president of Mandd Sobhann; Louis J. Pinto, its former president; Arun Raj Rodrigues, its coordinator; and Irene Rebello, its secretary, were also present.
