Mandatory property card rule relaxed till May 15

Mangaluru, Mar 08, 2019: The rule making  Property Cards or Urban Property Ownership Record-UPOR mandatory for all registration  of properties, has been relaxed. A revised notification of the state government allows registration of properties even without property cards, till May 15.

In the wake of the problems faced by people due to the mandatory requirement of property card for all property dealings,  Revenue Department’s Commissioner of Survey, Land Records and Settlement Manish Muddil had  visited Mangaluru to hold a special meeting with the Deputy Commissioner on the issue following a request from DK District in-charge Minister.

As there were several technical glitches and as so far only 40% of property owners availed the property cards, it was decided against making property cards mandatory for land registrations till May 15.
