Mangaluru , Nov 5, 2015 : A drunken brawl led Yogish, a painter, to hit his friend Abdul Sattar (43), a fish vendor, on the latter’s head using a knife in Bajal in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to Mangaluru Rural Police, Yogish, came in an inebriated state Abdul’s house, around 2 a.m., where he picked up a quarrel on a petty issue. In the heat of the moment, Yogish hit Abdul. Family members rushed Abdul to a private hospital in Kankanady, where the wound was sutured.

Suspecting it to be a clash between members of two communities, the police rushed to the private hospital to hear Abdul’s version. He narrated the sequence of events and also lodged a complaint against Yogish.

The police went to Yogish’s house and arrested him for assault.
