Man falls to death in trench laid for UGD work at Katipalla

Mangaluru, Feb 11, 2018: In a tragic incident, a man  lost his life after he accidentally fell into a trench laid for underground drainage work near Katipalla, Krishnapura on February 10, Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Mohan (35), a resident of Ganesh Kripa in Katipalla First Block.

The incident took place at around 7.30 pm.  Mohan who fell into the trench was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru where he later succumbed.

Carelessness on the part of the contractor is  suspected to be  the cause of the accident. Local MLA who arrived at the spot  on gathering information,  has taken the contractor to task.
