Mangalore, August 8: A 26 years old worker in the city’s famous Cochin Bakery at Kankanady, Mangalore died caught between the doors of the elevator in their premises in the after-noon, August 8.




The victim is identified as K.K. Vijesh hailing from Koilandy, near Kozhikode in Kerala state.






The accident took place in the three storied premises of the Cochin Bakery in the after-noon. The diseased was on duty when the accident took place. He was carrying a crate of egg meant for preparation of bakery items in the third floor of the building. The doors of the elevator closed unexpected while he got into the elevator in the ground floor. The elevator moved up taking the victims hanging half inside and half outside. He was jammed between the ceiling of the ground floor and elevator.

Police and fire service personells’ had to break the wall of the elevator well to take the body out. Investigation is on to ascertain the defects of the elevator.
