Mangaluru, Jan 30, 2018: In a development that has sent shock waves, a Malaysian citizen pursuing a medical course in the city has secured an Aadhar card. This revelation has even given rise to suspicion that many more persons might be having Aadhar cards illegally. Sources say this has been possible in connivance with officials and some elected representatives.
In this particular instance, Hoh Jian Meng (25) who owns a study visa has secured an Aadhar card as per which he is now an Indian citizen. Reportedly, the Aadhar card of this youth has the address Hoh Jian Meng, son of Hoh Deng Kiyong, No. 012, Balmatta Road, Maharaja Residency, Hampankatta, Mangaluru.
Sources revealed that a woman had visited the apartment with the objective of getting Aadhar cards done to those who needed them. It is also said the woman was initially denied entry but was later allowed after the security personnel got a call from an influential political leader.
It is also reliably learnt that the woman was working for some party and the Aadhar registration was done at Mangalore One.
There is a need for the authorities to delve deep into the Aadhar irregularities.
