 Puttur, April 26,2017: Reports indicate the annual Mahalingeshwara Temple jathre in Puttur is easily one of the biggest and most-attended events in Dakshina Kannada. This  12th century Shiva temple is set to become the cynosure of religious and cultural activities during this part of the year and a weeklong celebration follows.

The mega pujas, elaborate procession of the gods and demigods, the exotic chariot, the fanfare of the devotees and the eye-catching fireworks is truly a sight to behold. What added  further to the proceedings is that the authorities went live with all the programmes on the social networking page of the temple.
