Mangaluru, Nov 22, 2015: Veteran journalist Chidambar Baikampady who is recuperating from injuries he suffered in a road mishap recently, was conferred the Karnataka Madhyama Academy Award for the year 2015 by Academy Chief Ponnappa who visited the residence of Chidambar along with other office bearers of the Academy, as per the directive of the Chief Minister.
Academy Secretary S Shankerappa, Kanteerava Studio Chairperson Vijayalakshma Urs, District Working Journalists Union President Jagannath Shetty Bala, Vice President Sukesh Kumar, artiste Mime Ramdas and others were present.
Chidambar who made his foray into the field of journalism through Mungaru Daily in the ’80s had used his pen to reflect the various pressing issues confronting the district and was also instrumental in introducing the silent crusader Akshara Santha Harekala Hajabba to the society.
Also popular through his Suddigondu Guddu programme on a local channel, Chidambar is presently the Chief Editor of web portal seeandsay.in
