MP Nalin must submit proof to his contributions to the district : Congress leader Vinayraj

Mangaluru, Dec 29, 2018: District Congress Spokesperson A C Vinayraj has demanded that Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel  must  prove his contributions to the district by releasing documents substantiating the same, to the media.

 

Speaking to reporters at the District Congress office on December 29, Saturday, Vinayraj  alleged that the MP’s contribution to the district was  nil.

"Nalin Kumar has been the MP of the constituency for the past nine and a half years.   There is no instance of him securing any additional grant over and above the Rs 5 crore that he gets under  the MPLAD Funds. But the MP has been boasting in the media that he has secured grants to the tune of Rs 14,000 crore to the district. But he has not provided any proof," alleged Vinayraj.

He further took exception to the silence of the MP towards the moves of the Union government to privatise the NMPT and Mangaluru International Airport. The  Pumpwell, Thokkottu flyover projects are proceeding at a snail’s pace, even the  BC Road-Gundia NH four-laning project initiated during the erstwhile UPA rule has come to a halt, he complained.

"Now that the Lok Sabha elections are nearing, an organisation named Team Modi has been formed to  trap people emotionally and help BJP win. Let Team Modi  explain the contributions of the Prime Minister to the district," he said.

District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, Ramananda Poojary, Nazeer  Bajal and others were present on the occasion.
