Mangaluru, Feb 20, 2015: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel flagged off a bike rally held in the city on February 20, Friday in connection with the Virat Hindu Samajotsava scheduled to be held at Nehru Maidan on March 1. The event is organised to mark the golden jubilee of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Addressing the rallyists, the MP urged the people of the city to participate in the Hindu Samajotsava and clarified that it was just a get-together rather than a show of strength. He also reminded people that the Hindu Samajotsava has been organised in the city since many years and that there have been no untoward incidents in the aftermath of it.
He said Hinduism always propagated peace and harmony and added the VHP has been working towards uniting Hindus against social evils.
Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Gurupur Vajradehi Mutt also spoke on the occasion and lashed out at DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai. He also accused him of appeasing only minorities.
The bike rally which commenced from the Hindu Samajotsava office at Bunts Hostel culminated at the same point after passing through Mallikatta, Balmatta, Hampankatta, Central Market Road, Carstreet and Ladyhill.
