Mangaluru, Sep 09, 2016: Speaking at the release of the second part of the book ’Kanasugala Sakshatkarada Haadiyalli’ (On the Path of Realising Dreams), based on the achievements of  MLC and Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza on the occasion of Ivan completing two years as MLC at a programme held in St Antony’s Ashram in Jeppu. Bishop of Mangaluru Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza said the contributions of leaders to society should be an inspiration to all.

MLC IvaHe went on to say that MLC Ivan has been a people-friendly politician. Ivan has been serving sick people, the less-privileged and the needy. He strives to provide around Rs 3 crore from the chief minister’s relief fund. This should be an example for all politicians, he said and called upon other politicians to serve the needy.

Hampi Kannada University former VC B A Vivek Rai said politicians who dream for the betterment of the society are rare now. Today’s politicians are behaving like villains. Young politicians should set a standard and should help the society. Helping the needy is as important as public administration. The development plans should be drawn after getting in touch with the people .

MLC Ivan D’Souza recalled that the first book in the series was released at Infant Mary’s shrine. Ivan has been carrying out activities towards helping the less privileged with the guidance by his elders, he said.

MUDA Chairman Ibrahim Kodichal, Mayor Harinath, Ivan’s wife Dr Kavita and St Antony’ Ashram Director Fr Onil D’Souza  among a host of admirers and well wishers attended the occasion.
