Sullia, July 5, 2015: MLA S Angara convened a meeting of College Development Council of Government First Grade College over the admission row at the college July 4 and decided to admit four students to solve the issue.
After listening to the problem, he said the problem has come up because of delay in taking action against disobedient students. Strictness is important, everything can not be solved through law, he said.
The meeting discussed about the admission of students as there was difference of opinion among members. Lecturer Acchuta Poojary opined that the situation arises because of the politics of the students. Around 15 meetings have been convened to discuss the misdemeanors.
Classes could not be conducted properly from past one month. The problem of five students has affected the 900 students of the college. Though admission was denied to eight students of one community, two students of another community have been admitted without any logical basis it was stated.
It is also decided to give police complaint against students in case of disobedience. CCTV cameras would be installed in the college. Principal Meera Rao, Committee Members N A Ramachandra, Radhakrishna Manibettu, Circle Inspector B S Satish and others were present.
