MLA UT Khader home quarantined after ex-MLC Ivan D’souza tests positive for Covid-19

Mangaluru, August 28, 2020: A day after former MLC Ivan D’Souza tested positive for Covid-19, Congress Legislator U T Khader on Sunday informed that he is undergoing self-quarantine with immediate effect.

Taking to Twitter Khader wrote, “Have gone into self-quarantine with immediate effect after receiving the news about Covid-19 positive test Mr Ivan D’Souza and his wife Dr Kavitha. Being COVID Incharge Dakshina Kannada District Task Force Committee, I am one among Ivan’s primary contacts.”

“I am going to discharge my duties from home for the next few days. You can reach me over the phone at any point in time. I appeal to all my colleagues and friends who may have come in contact with us in the last few days to get tested for COVID,” he said in another tweet.

Information department requested the journalists who had attended the press meet at the Congress office on July 31, to undergo self-quarantine. Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra has said that all the journalists who had attended the press meet should closely monitor their health and if they notice any symptoms should contact the hospital for further assistance. They should also restrict their activities and co-operate with the district administration in this regard.
