Mangalore, Aug 04, 2014: The Council of the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) is set to construct multi-level car parking-cum-commercial complex . The Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) consents and will construct its own or through a public private partnership (PPP).
In council meeting, the proposal to build the car parking was given to the MUDA five years ago. Of the 215.50 cents land available in the old service bus stand at Hampankatta, the MCC owns 155 cents and the remaining 60.50 cents land belong to three private individuals.
In a meeting held on August 7, 2012, it was decided to give built up area to the private individuals when the complex comes up. The Diamond building owns 22 cents and 18 cents land, Dhanyavad building owns 14.50 cents, Baliga building—2 cents and Maruthi building—4 cents land.
Mayor Mahabala Marla said that now the corporation will ask a consultant firm to prepare a blueprint of the proposed project. The matter will be discussed in the development committee of the civic body and proceeded with.
