Mangaluru, March 16, 2016 : Several unauthorised petty shops located at the city bus stand area and Rao and Rao Circle were evicted in an operation conducted by MCC officials under the leadership of Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner on March 15, Tuesday.
The operation was held under the protection of police and KSRP personnel. Revenue Inspector Praveen Chandra, Health Inspectors Manjayya Shetty, Vijay and other officials were part of the operation which was conducted as per a recent directive of the Deputy Commissioner to evict illegal petty shops.
When officials were about to evict a Nandini milk stall which had failed to renew its licence there was an altercation between them and the booth owners. The shop owner however argued that he had the licence and that the authorities have erred by razing down the pillars.
