Mangaluru, March 16, 2016 : Several unauthorised petty shops located at the city bus stand area and Rao and Rao Circle were evicted in an operation conducted by MCC officials under the leadership of Mangaluru  City Corporation Commissioner on March 15, Tuesday.


The operation was held under the protection of police  and KSRP personnel. Revenue  Inspector Praveen Chandra, Health Inspectors Manjayya Shetty, Vijay and other  officials were part of the operation which was conducted as per a recent directive of the Deputy Commissioner to evict illegal petty shops.

When officials were about to evict  a Nandini milk stall  which had failed to renew its licence there was an altercation between them and the booth owners. The shop owner however argued that he had the licence and that the authorities  have erred by razing down the pillars.

The petty shops on the road side spoil the beauty of the place and plays an important role in hindering the development of the city. the state area is said to the most dirtiest and a foul smell around the bus stand should move covering the nose with the handkerchiff

Now the time has come? there are so many around this area. The petty shops make a lot of profit as the cost of maintenance is low compared to others

great work by the MCC as they are hurdles for the pedestrians . Some petty shops are set up the footpath itself
