MCC Removes Illegally Built Petty Shops at Pumpwell

Mangalore, June 28: Nearly 25 petty shops, constructed illegally near Pumpwell, were demolished by the officials of Mangalore City Corporation on Monday, June 28.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The demolish work was conducted under the supervision of Corporation Commissioner KN Vijayaprakash as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj.

Earlier, same MCC officials have demolished an illegal structure constructed on a prohibited area at Pumpwell on June 16. But this time MCC officials did not receive any resistance from the public as they have issued notice to remove illegal structure before two days i.e. on June 26. The move of the MCC really shows that the civic body now takes the issue of illegal construction very seriously and is planning to demolish all illegal structures in Mangalore.

However, the occupants of the illegal constructions were worried and expressed their anger against the move undertaken by the MCC.  One of the families, whose petty shop was also removed by the civic body today, has criticized the drive of MCC.
