MCC Commisioner wants RTO, police, to regulate tanker movements

Mangaluru, May 13, 2016: MCC,  Mangaluru City Corporation officials pleading inability to regulate the working of water tankers, MCC Commissioner H.N. Gopalakrishna said it should be done by the RTO  and Police Departments.


MCC Commisione.At a meeting at the office DK DC Adoor .B. Ibrahim on  May 12, Thursday, city residents accused private water suppliers of overcharging for supplying water by tankers.  They expressed the need for better regulation of water tankers in the city.  The residents wanted the corporation to take action against erring tanker parties.

DK DC  Ibrahim asked MCC’s Gopalakrishna to take necessary action. Commissioner Gopalakrishna said the MCC officials were preoccupied with arranging water for residents since last few days.  He said it was difficult for officials to regulate working of private tanker operators.  “We did ask the RTO to look into matters, but they refused to do so,” he said.

Commissioner Gopalakrishna asked DC  Ibrahim to issue orders to the police and the RTO to take action on complaints against private water suppliers.

The time you people decide the movement of tankers the problem may be solved. The tankers will be of no use after some days as the weather has changed to some extent
