Lorry takes a plunge into water at old port!

Mangalore, Mar 4, 2014 : A lorry laden with rice and other groceries took a plunge in the water in an accidental turn of events at the old port in the city on March 4, Tuesday afternoon. The driver and the lorry were rescued by locals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The lady bearing the name ‘Lady of Fathima’  loaded with rice and other  food materials was ready to proceed to Bantwal from the port when the mishap took place. The vehicle was heading towards the main road and took a turn when suddenly  it suffered a  brake failure. The lorry headed straight to the  river and was almost inundated. The lorry driver and cleaner who were caught inside were rescued.

The lorry involved in the mishap is a route lorry which supplies groceries to shops in Bantwal and Panemangalore.
