Lorry driver escapes after hitting an auto rickshaw; gets thrashed by locals

Vittla: September 21, 2015: A lorry driver who was trying to escape after hitting an auto rickshaw was caught by the locals and then handed over to the police here in Myra in Vittla on Sunday.

The incident occurred when Auto driver Yashwant from Neerkaje was taking passenger to Padibagilu. The lorry driver who was over speed hit auto rickshaw from rear. Both the auto driver and the passenger suffered serious injuries in the accident.

Soon after the accident, the lorry driver tried to escape from the spot without stopping the vehicle. The locals stopped the lorry, thrashed the driver and then handed over to the police.

The locals censured that the lorry drivers are negligent and plying on the prohibited roads.

The accidents of the heavy vehicles are increasing these days. The traffic patrolling should be strict on the vehicle drivers.
