Mangaluru, Mar 24, 2016: President of Mangalore Bar Association SP Chengappa said that, “Lokayutha has been laid down by ACB’s (Anti Corruption Bureau) emergence, as we strong condemn for the step taken by Chief Minister Siddarammaih for uplifting ACB and need to withdraw it immediately.”
Addressing to the press at Mangalore Bar Association office, he said that, Karnataka Lokayukta known for the one who stood firm against the corrupted officials in the state, but the emergence of ACB shook the entire state by tainting Karnataka Lokayukta.
He pointed out that, Justice Bhaskar has defamed Karnataka Lokayuktha by taking bribe from the corrupted officials for his personal benefits, but government had failed to take strict action against Justice Bhaskar who ended up resigning.
He further said that, this step has laid down Lokayuktha by uplifting ACB by State Government, protest was staged against it but of no use. Neither proposal nor discussion took place before ACB uplifted as the whole system in the state itself is degraded.
State Human Rights Commission yet to appoint a chairman and the result of KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) is not been announced just because KPSC yet to appoint a chairman, said Chengappa.
Over 600 cases has been registered regard to consumer problems as scarcity of supporting staffs found in consumer forum, even after registration of the complaint no justice provided so additional consumer forum need to be formed in Mangaluru, he demanded.
Court road need to be upgraded for which Rs. 11 crore sanctioned and foundation stone has been laid one year back but still concrete road work yet to start.
