Mangaluru, Jan 10, 2015 :A youth from Kunjathbail in Mangaluru has been sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment by the First Additional District and Sessions Court after convicting him in a case of murder. The convict Rajesh (26) had killed one Sunder Poojary near the old Kent Road in the city after the latter refused to pay him Rs 100 after having sex with him.
The Court has even imposed a penalty of Rs 2000 on Rajesh apart from an addition rigorous five years imprisonment for unnatural sex. Earlier during the course of hearing, a doctor had confirmed thta Rajesh was practising Sodomy and used to have sex with Sunder Poojary and many others.
The murder had taken place on January 20, 2012. The charge sheet filed by the Mangaluru South Police said both Rajesh and Sunder met at a market in the city after which they left for an isolated are near Dhobi Ghat. The charge sheet said Rajesh killed Sunder when he refused to pay him Rs 100 as promised. Rajesh had strangled Sunder to death and dumped the body in a nearby abandoned well.
A total of 26 witnesses were heard in the case.
