Less passengers led to cancellation of Kasargod –Byndoor train ?

Kundapur, May 13, 2017 : The Kasargod-Byndoor passenger train  which  was operating keeping in mind  increasing number of pilgrims visiting the Kollur shrine, has been cancelled temporarily from May 12, Friday. 

Though the railways has clarified that the cancellation of this train service was only a temporary measure and that maintenance works would be undertaken during the time,  what has been gathered is that the poor response from the general public towards the train service had led to its cancellation.

The Railways had even extended the train service upto Kannur last year, but of no avail.

One argument is that as the train has Mangaluru Junction as its starting point there were not many takers for it.
