Laxminarayan Kajegadde of Sullia receives National Youth Award from President

Mangalore, July 5, 2013: Lakshminarayana Kajegadde of Sullia received the National Youth Award for development activities and social sercive for 2011-12 from President Pranab Mukharjee at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday. The minister of youth affairs and sports, Jitendra Singh and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

President conferred the Award on 27 individuals and a West Bengal-based organisation.  National Youth Awards, instituted in the year 1985 are conferred on youth each year who have demonstrably excelled in different fields of youth development and social service.

 

Laxminarayan Kajegadde of Sullia receives National Youth Award


Laxminarayan of Kajagadde a member of Kanakamajalu Yuvaka Mandal, Sullia Youth Unity Society’s president and also the president of  Belli Mandala Sullia Unit. Laxminarayan’s service to the youth through the organisations Yuvaka Mandal and Belli Mandal were the reasons for his consideration.

The award carries a silver medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 40,000 in case of individual awardee and Rs 2 lakh for any voluntary organisation.
