Mangaluru, Oct 4,2017: The lawyers fraternity boycotted the proceedings at the Sessions Court on October 4, Wednesday in protest against the transfer of senior High Court judge Jayanth M Patil who was due for elevation as acting chief justice of the state high court. The protest was organised by the Mangaluru Bar Association.
The protestors demanded that the government revoked the transfer order of Justice Patil and urged for early steps to fill in the vacant post of High Court judges. They pointed out that the court had only 27 judges instead of 82.
Mangaluru Bar Association President M R Ballal, Vice President Pushpalatha, General Secretary and others participated in the protest.
