Lady GP member of Bajpe dies in two-wheeler-bus collision near Town Hall

Mangaluru, May 2, 2015: A woman gram panchayat member of Bajpe lost her life in a gory mishap involving a two-wheeler and a city bus near Town Hall on May 2, Saturday. The deceased is Prema (56), wife of Krishna Gatty of Vamanjoor.

Krishna Gatty and Prema were moving towards the Central Market in an Activa bike when a route No. 13 city bus hit their scooter. The impact of the collision was such that Prema fell on to the road and she was run over by the same bus killing her instantly.

Prema’s husband sustained minor injuries and is hospitalised.

Traffic on the route was affected for some time as a large crowd gathered at the spot of the accident.

The deceased Prema is survived by her husband, a daughter and two sons.

Pandeshwar Police have registered a case.
