Kundapur’s Dr Shravya S Rao emerges runner-up of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Season 20’

Kundapura, March 22, 2024: Dr. Shravya S Rao, hailing from Kundapur, has clinched the runner-up title in the Zee Kannada reality show, ’Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Season 20’. Juggling her roles as a dedicated paediatrician and an associate professor at Siddaganga Medical College, Tumakuru, Dr. Shravya showcases an unwavering commitment to both medicine and music.

Her musical prowess isn’t newfound; Dr. Shravya’s journey includes securing the top spot in the 2006 program ’Ede Tumbi Haduvenu’ and being the first runner-up in Idea Star Singer Season-2 aired on Suvarna TV channel. With an impressive tally of over 200 victories in state-level music competitions, she stands adorned with recognition and honors in the realm of music.

Crediting her mother, a classical singer, for introducing her to Carnatic music, Dr. Shravya pursued her musical education under the tutelage of Vidwan Mahabaleshwar Bhagwat while advancing her medical career. Grateful for the unyielding support from her husband, Dr. Karthik, and the administration of Siddaganga Medical College, Tumakuru, Dr. Shravya cherishes the privilege of performing alongside distinguished artists such as S Janaki, Vani Jairam, Gurukiran, and Rajesh Krishnan.

Educationally, Dr. Shravya earned her MBBS degree from AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and MD from Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Mandya. Furthermore, she has contributed to the academic sphere with two research articles published in the International Journal of Contemporary Paediatrics.

Dr. Shravya is the daughter of K Shrinivas, heading the quality and process department at Manipal Technologies Limited, and Sandhya U, a teacher at Koteshwara Karnataka High School.
