Kundapur, Feb 3, 2016 : A peculiar problem which students and teachers of the  Hardalli Mandalli School in a village in the taluk have been facing since some time, has been solved after the SDMC and parents staged a protest and locked up the school premises on February 2, Tuesday.

The complaint of the protestors was that a woman in the neighbourhood was creating problems by disconnecting the power supply to the school. It was said the woman even used to hurl abuses against anyone who questioned her.

Following the protest , the accused woman named  Jyothi Madivala has been arrested. It is said  the MESCOM had some time back provided power connection to the school  with due consent of the woman whose house was located nearby as the power line  passed through her house,. Jyothi had then agreed as she too would get free electricity in the process.

However, she soon started creating problems by  disconnecting power supply and threatening the students. A complaint with the Kota Police yielded no result.

Education resource person Uday Gaonkar who arrived at the spot received a memorandum from the  protestors. The MESCOM officials who too visited the place provided a new power connection to the school by erecting a new electric pole.

The protest was later withdrawn and Jyothi was  taken to custody.
