Kundapur, Aug 12, 2015 : A man from Udupi who has been accused of sexually abusing a ninth standard boy in his car at Kambadakone near Byndoor on August 11, Tuesday evening was arrested the same day after an intense search. The accused has been identified as Karim Abrahar (30). He has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and has been produced before the court.
It is learnt, the man who was proceeding in his Maruti Eeco car near the Railway Gate at Kambadakone had stopped the car for the boy, a student of Kambadakone Government High School when the latter waved at the car and agreed to drop him near his home. However, while driving the car, the man it is learnt began to misbehave with the boy and tried to sexually abuse him forcing the boy to raise a cry. Sources said the man stopped the car at one point and asked the boy to remove his trousers.
However, when the boy began to shout, he tried to escape following fear of getting caught. A man who was working nearby on seeing the boy questioned him. Though the car fled towards a forest area, the driver had to return the same way as there was no other way to return.
Though locals tried their level best to trap him it proved a futile exercise. Finally the car was found parked near the local beach.
Meanwhile, the police too who had launched a search for the accused, spotted Kareem near a petty sop close by the beach and soon chased and arrested him. The accused, it is learnt had come to visit a relative in Byndoor.
