Kundapur, July 10, 2015: A  huge protest rally was organised by many leftist organisations including CITU, DYFI SFI  here on July 9, Thursday to condemn the failure of the Police Department in investigating the  case of suspicious death of a PUC student named Ratna Kottary last year.

The protestors alleged that  the family of Ratna has not yet received the Rs 3  lakhs compensation announced by the government.

Seventeen year old Ratna Kottary of Alandoor was found dead  at Savantagudde near Byndoor almost three days after she was reported missing.

The protestors including a large number of students who took out a rally and later gathered in front of the residence of local MLA Gopal Poojary  slammed the authorities for failure to do justice in the case,

Muneer Katipalla, State President of DYFI in his address warned of a severe protest if the police fail to make headway into the investigation within a week and also if the compensation was not paid to Ratna family by then.

State Secretary of SFI Gururaj Desai and others spoke on the occasion.

The protestors handed over a memorandum to the Secretary of the MLA in his absence. The protest was held amid tight security arrangements.

We the people are fools and get fooled by the MLA’s and Politicians very easily.Till the time of election they come to the doorstep and beg for the vote, make promises.Once they win a seat, they are not to be seen. We need permission to meet them. Whom to question? On the whole, politics itself is corrupted.

Our Politicians are not taking any interest to give justice to the people in such cases because they do not have any concern to the life of common people.

Unless we go on a protest "Our Government" won’t wake up.
