Kundapur : Hit and run case claims life of young labourer

Kundapur , Oct 17, 2015:  A hit and run case  which took place on the National Highway 66 in Yadthare village of Byndoor on October 16 has claimed the life of a youth.

The deceased is Asangi (24), a labourer who hailed from  Guledagudde in Badami and worked in Manipal.  It is learnt, he was also pursuing a diploma course in Manipal.

Sources said Asangi who  had been to Badami was returning to Manipal by a bus. When the bus had halted  in front of a restaurant at Yadthare,  Asangi had alighted the bus and was trying to cross the road when a speeding vehicle hit him and sped away.

Ironically none of the passengers in the bus were aware of the tragedy and the bus had proceeded towards its destination.

The accident came to light much later. Byndoor police have begun a search for the vehicle which had crushed Asangi to death.

The body has been handed over to the family of the deceased which had arrived from Badami.
