Kundapur: Desperate couple sell their newborn

Kundapur, Jan 07, 2017: A desperate couple sold their new born for Rs 1 lakh ,due to poverty at Dombe in Byndoor. On the complaint by local residents incident came to light later.

couple 7 jan It is said that Nagamma Poojary and Shekhar Poojary couple had four children and on Decemder 23 she gave birth to their fifth child. But the local residents noticed that the child was missing and the couple tried to hide from them. The locals who came to know about the incident complained to the Udupi child welfare committee who booked a case against Shekhar poojary couple.

During interrogation Nagamma being desperate confessed the fact to the police that they had sold their child to Shridhar Mogera for Rs 1 lakh . Mogera was bank employee and is brother of Heble gram panchayat president N D Mogera.
